Outback Armada Event Details
Sea of Thieves Australia – February 21st Event
Join the Sea of Thieves Australia (SOTAU) community for the Outback Armada Fleet Battle, a large-scale PvP naval event featuring full fleets of ships battling for victory on the High Seas. This competitive community event pits Galleon, Brigantine, and Sloop crews against an opposing fleet in a fast-paced naval showdown.

Format: Galleon + Brigantine + Sloop vs Galleon + Brigantine + Sloop
Fleet Composition
Each team must field:
- 1 Galleon
- 1 Brigantine
- 1 Sloop
All three ships form a single fleet, but ships are not required to stay together during the battle.
Team Colors
- Teams will be assigned either Red or Blue.
- All pirates and ships must use cosmetics matching their team colour.
- Event staff may request changes before the match begins.
Reaper’s Mark Requirement
- All ships must raise the Reaper’s Mark flag before the match starts.
- Ships without the Reaper’s Mark cannot participate.
This ensures all fleets remain visible and the battle stays fair and competitive.
Starting Positions
- Each fleet will usually start from their assigned outpost.
- Crews must remain at their starting location until the admin countdown.
Match Start
- The battle begins immediately when the admin finishes the countdown.
- There is no grace period.
Once the match starts, ships may:
- Sail freely
- Attack enemy ships
- Board opponents
- Loot ships or supplies
Objective
The goal is simple: Sink all ships in the opposing fleet. The fleet battle ends when one team has lost all three of their ships.
Sinking, Boarding, and Elimination Rules
If your ship sinks:
You may continue fighting only if:
- You are still alive, and
- You can visually see another ship from your team, and
- You successfully board that ship.
You are eliminated if:
- Your ship sinks and you die, or
- You respawn out of visual range of your team’s ships.
Once eliminated, you are out of the battle.
Combat Rules
All standard Sea of Thieves naval combat is allowed:
- Cannons
- Firebombs
- Blunder bombs
- Boarding actions
Third-party interference is not allowed.
Prohibited Actions
The following are not allowed:
- Outside ships assisting either team
- Intentional fleeing far outside the battle area
- Unsportsmanlike or toxic behavior
- Breaking Sea of Thieves Australia community rules
Staff Decisions
- All event host and referee decisions are final.
- Any disputes must be raised respectfully after the battle.

The Outback Armada Fleet Battle rewards both performance and community spirit, with exclusive Sea of Thieves Affiliate Alliance prizes up for grabs.This prize structure is designed to recognise the best crews, standout plays, and positive sportsmanship within the Sea of Thieves Australia community.

The victorious team will earn:

Awarded to two standout players from the winning fleet who demonstrate exceptional performance during the battle.
⭐ Individual Awards
Special prizes will be awarded to the top pirates across both teams:
- 1× Affiliate Alliance Plunder Pass
Given to the Overall MVP of the event. - 1× Affiliate Alliance Tattoo Set
Awarded to the player who shows the best sportsmanship, leadership, and teamwork.
